Chinese Manufacturer Offers Modified RTX 5090 with 96GB VRAM on Alibaba for Under $4,000
Shenzhen Suqiao Intelligent Technology has listed a custom GeForce RTX 5090 with triple the standard memory on Alibaba, undercutting U.S. pricing by more than a third.

While the GeForce RTX 5090 ranks among today's most capable graphics processors, Shenzhen Suqiao Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer specializing in OEM/ODM work, has created a variant that substantially expands its capabilities. The company has equipped its version of Nvidia's Blackwell flagship with 96GB of memory—triple the standard allocation—and is offering it through Alibaba for $3,888, representing a 35% reduction compared to the standard U.S. price for the unmodified GeForce RTX 5090.
Chinese manufacturers have established a track record of producing unconventional graphics card modifications, including the GeForce RTX 5080 32GB, the GeForce RTX 4090 48GB, and the GeForce RTX 3090 48GB. While some initiatives stem from technical experimentation, the recent surge in artificial intelligence development has driven many Chinese factories to expand memory on existing and older graphics cards to meet demand from consumers deploying them for AI applications. Though some claims—such as a GeForce RTX 5090 128GB variant—strain credibility, the 96GB configuration appears more technically feasible, particularly given that Blackwell-based professional cards already exist with this memory capacity.
Suqiao brings substantial credentials to this undertaking, having spent more than a decade manufacturing graphics cards, motherboards, and server equipment. This background as an established manufacturer rather than an unknown operation adds weight to claims about the GeForce RTX 5090 96GB's legitimacy. The Alibaba listing itself contains technical specifications that warrant scrutiny, including references to GDDR6X memory operating at 14 Gbps.
The RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell, which incorporates 96GB of GDDR7 memory, shares the same GB202 silicon as the consumer GeForce RTX 5090, though with additional enabled Streaming Multiprocessors. This demonstrates that 96GB configurations are technically achievable on the GB202 architecture. The modified GeForce RTX 5090 96GB likely employs a custom circuit board allowing memory components to be mounted in clamshell configuration, effectively doubling the memory density on the board. Suqiao could source GB202 silicon independently or harvest it from standard GeForce RTX 5090 cards and rebond it to their custom board.
Even with clamshell mounting on both sides of the circuit board, only 32 memory pads are available. The RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell uses 32 GDDR7 chips rated at 24Gb (3GB) each. A significant concern regarding the GeForce RTX 5090 96GB's authenticity emerges from the specification listing GDDR6X memory. Micron manufactured GDDR6X chips exclusively in 16 Gb (2GB) capacities, limiting clamshell configurations to a maximum of 48GB. Furthermore, GDDR6X operates between 19 Gbps and 24 Gbps, substantially exceeding the stated 14 Gbps figure, which aligns instead with standard GDDR6 specifications.
Running Nvidia graphics cards with non-standard memory configurations demands custom firmware and software modifications. The GeForce RTX 4090 48GB became viable when developers rewrote Nvidia's firmware for these cards. Recent discussions indicate that leaked firmware for the GeForce RTX 5090 has circulated for several months, potentially explaining the emergence of these modified 96GB variants.

Suqiao's asking price of $3,888 sits notably below other Alibaba vendors offering comparable specifications at approximately $5,900. For context, custom GeForce RTX 5090 models begin at $6,000 in the United States. Nvidia's current pricing for the RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell ranges from $16,000 to $17,999 depending on configuration. Should the GeForce RTX 5090 96GB prove authentic, even at $6,000 it would represent exceptional value for individuals deploying AI models.
