Nvidia Floats $2,000 Annual Per-GPU Software Licensing Model for AI Agent Infrastructure
Jensen Huang revealed a potential pricing structure for Nvidia's AI software that could reshape the company's revenue model, though implementation timing remains unclear.

Nvidia is considering a substantial shift in how it monetizes its software offerings. According to reporting by The Register, CEO Jensen Huang has indicated that licensing the company's AI software could cost around $2,000 annually per GPU. Under certain scenarios—such as five million paid licenses, as outlined by FourWeekMBA—this pricing structure could accumulate to $50 billion in revenue over a five-year period. However, Huang has not yet specified when such a pricing model might actually launch.
Huang unveiled these details during GTC Berlin on October 22, where Nvidia presented its strategy to establish a comprehensive AI infrastructure business encompassing semiconductors, software, and security solutions for AI agents. He characterized software licensing as an emerging revenue pillar for the company. "Software licensing will become increasingly a major part of our company's business. The way that we license will be…for example, it's about $2,000 per GPU per year to run all the software that Nvidia provides that runs agents on these AI factories," Huang stated.
